MOUNTAIN TRAIL RACE "ARCADON POIMENON" (ARCADIAN SHEPHERDS)
First day (Saturday):
By your own or by organizers transfer (in depends on your choice), to Valtessiniko Arcadias, the village where you will stay.
Proximity: around 200 km from Athens. Roads, very good. Trip duration from Athens: 2 hours and 30’
Installation at a local hotel. Rest of the day for free.
Second day (Sunday):
Mountain trail race on the north side of Mt Mainalo, following the trails of the “Arcadian Shepherds”. A fascinating journey, on a landscape that provoked poets (Virgil) and inspired painters (Poussin).
Start Time: 10:15 am. Total round distance 21km. Duration: 4 hours approximately. Terrain map here (clik). Altitude range: from 1050 to 1450 meters.
Upon finish, lunch in a traditional taverna with local dishes. Late afternoon back home in accordance with way you have choose.
